I have a rule… if you can’t say it, don’t eat it!
Have you ever read the ingredients on the back of a taco seasoning package? It may scare you. It’s full of nasty stuff with a label that reads more like a chemistry textbook. If you’ve been wondering how to replace those small packets of MSG-riddled spices with something real, give this recipe for homemade taco seasoning a try.
This recipe is packed full of flavorful, fragrant spices you most likely already have in your cupboard. Not only does it taste better, its so much cheaper!
Plus look how pretty it is!
I promise you will never buy store bought taco seasoning again.
Clean Taco Seasoning
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
In a small bowl combine all ingredients and stir well. Store in an airtight container. I use 1-2 tbsp per 1 pound of meat when seasoning.
